Planning a Grand Teton National Park elopement comes with plenty of excitement and a little bit of preparation. One of the most common questions couples ask is what to Pack for Your Grand Teton National Park Elopement.
The beauty of eloping in the Tetons is that your day can be as simple or adventurous as you want it to be. Whether you’re exchanging vows at sunset overlooking the mountains or spending the entire day exploring Grand Teton National Park together, packing thoughtfully can help ensure your experience is comfortable, stress-free, and unforgettable.
Here’s everything I recommend bringing for your Grand Teton elopement day.

Before anything else, make sure you have the items you absolutely need for your ceremony.
I always recommend placing these items together in one location the night before your elopement so you’re not scrambling the morning of your wedding.
One thing many couples don’t realize about Grand Teton National Park is how quickly temperatures can change.
Even during the summer months, mornings can be surprisingly cold, especially before sunrise.
Consider packing:
Staying comfortable allows you to enjoy the experience rather than focusing on the weather.

This is one of my biggest recommendations.
Even if you’re planning to wear wedding shoes for portraits or your ceremony, bring comfortable shoes for walking between locations.
Many couples pack:
You can always change into your wedding shoes when we arrive at the portrait location.
Elopement days often involve more movement and exploring than traditional weddings.
Pack:
The last thing you want is to realize you’re hungry halfway through your adventure.
A small emergency kit can save the day. Consider bringing:
Thankfully, most of these items never get used—but you’ll be glad you have them if needed.

This may sound simple, but don’t forget your vows. Many couples choose to write private vows and read them during their ceremony or during a quiet moment together later in the day. Your vows are often one of the most meaningful parts of the entire day and you don’t want to forget them at home.
I recommend bringing:
One of the best things about eloping is creating a wedding day that feels personal. Some ideas include:
These details often create some of the most memorable moments and photographs from the day.

If details matter to you, consider setting aside a small box for your photographer (me!).
This might include:
Photographing these items helps tell the complete story of your wedding day and it’s one of my personal favorite parts of a gallery.
One of the best parts of eloping is keeping things simple, plus the venue is beautiful on it’s own! You don’t need:
The mountains are already doing most of the work. Instead, focus on bringing the items that help make the experience meaningful and comfortable.
If there’s one thing I hope every couple brings to their Grand Teton elopement, it’s flexibility. Mountain weather changes. Wildlife appears unexpectedly. Sunrises and sunsets look different than expected. Sometimes plans shift and often, those unexpected moments become the memories you treasure most.
The beauty of eloping in Grand Teton National Park isn’t about everything going perfectly. It’s about slowing down, embracing the experience, and celebrating your relationship in one of the most incredible places in the country.
From choosing ceremony locations and navigating permits to building timelines and documenting every meaningful moment, planning a Grand Teton elopement is about so much more than photographs. It’s about creating an experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
If you’re dreaming of exchanging vows beneath the Tetons, I’d love to help you create a day that feels intentional, adventurous, and uniquely yours. Get in touch and check out my website here.
